Surat : In a tragic incident, a 14-year-old boy named Bhavya Patel was killed in a hit and run accident on Pal-Adajan road in Surat on Tuesday afternoon.

Bhavya was riding pillion with his sister when a reckless truck driver hit their scooter from behind and fled the scene, killing him on the spot. The truck driver fled from the scene immediately after the incident.

This heart-wrenching incident has once again highlighted the importance of road safety and responsible driving. The Pal-Adajan road is known to be a busy stretch with heavy traffic, and incidents of reckless driving are not uncommon. The accident has left Bhavya’s family and friends devastated, and they are demanding justice for his untimely death.

A couple of days ago, a college girl on the moped was killed in the road accident involving a truck driver on Pal-Adajan road.

The Blunt Times highlighted the plight of Surat’s residents as the driving training schools are handing over fake certificates for heavy vehicles in the city’s Udhana and Limbayat areas. The Regional Transport Office (RTO), Surat officials are hand-in-glove with the driving schools in the city. https://theblunttimes.in/fake-certificates-fatal-consequences-driving-schools-in-surat-putting-lives-at-risk/31914/

It is not just the responsibility of the government and law enforcement agencies to ensure road safety, but also of every individual on the road. Reckless driving, over-speeding, and drunken driving are some of the major causes of road accidents in India, which claim thousands of lives every year. It is imperative for drivers to follow traffic rules, respect other vehicles on the road, and exercise caution while driving.

The hit and run incident on Pal-Adajan road serves as a wake-up call for all of us to be more mindful and responsible on the road. We need to understand the value of human life and take every possible precaution to avoid accidents. It is also important for law enforcement agencies to take strict action against reckless drivers and ensure that justice is served to the victims and their families.

“As a society, we need to come together and raise awareness about road safety, organize campaigns, and encourage people to follow traffic rules. Only then can we hope to make our roads safer and prevent incidents like the one that claimed Bhavya Patel’s life” said Darshan Naik, general secretary of Gujarat Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC), who was the first to blew the whistle on the fake certificates issued by the driving schools in Surat.
