Ahmedabad : Union Home Minister Amit Shah on December 24 said that the BJP will retain power at the Centre with a higher margin and Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third consecutive term.

Shah, who was on a day’s visit to Ahmedabad and his Lok Sabha constituency of Gandhinagar, was speaking at an event organized in Gandhinagar to unveil Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue.

The Union Home Minister attended a series of programmes in these two cities.

Mentioning that India Alliance leaders will be left clicking their pictures together, Shah said that Modi will take the Prime Minister’s chair with higher numbers. According to him, people across the country are rooting for Modi to be the Prime Minister.

In another programme, Shah said that the Prime Minister aims to make 140 crore people self-reliant. He was addressing beneficiaries of PM Svanidhi Scheme.

The Union Home Minister observed that the Prime Minister has worked with total dedication to improve the standard of life of 60 crore poor of India. This, he said, is in addition to promoting research and development, and space technology.

He informed that in his Lok Sabha constituency, more than 1.5 lakh people had availed the PM Svanidhi Scheme. Under this scheme, financial assistance is given without any collateral to those wanting to set up small businesses.

In one of the programmes, Shah also expressed hope that the 2036 Olympics will be held at Sardar Patel Sports Complex. The Complex also houses Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium, which is the biggest stadium in the world.

He said that the government has allocated Rs 4,600 for the Sardar Patel Sports Complex. Shah said that sports is being strengthened under Modi’s leadership.
