Ahmedabad,Gujarat : Following the Hathras stampede at the Satsang that killed more than 121 people in Uttar Pradesh, the Jamalpur Jagannath Temple has urged the devotees to join online in the 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath to avoid mayhem on July 7.

The 147th Rath Yatra of Lord Jagannath will be held on July 7. Lakhs of people flock to have a glimpse of God in the Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad. Regarding the Rath Yatra, the trustee of the temple, Mahendra Jha, held a press conference on Wednesday and said that Lord Jagannath will leave for Ashadi Bij Nagarcharya. The Rath Yatra will have 18 gajrajs, 101 trucks with various cultural spectacles, 30 Akhada, 18 bhajan groups along with three bands. Around 1000 to 1200 sailor brothers will pull the chariot. Darshan can be done online at Jagannath temple website WWW.JAGANNATHJI AHD.ORG. Jamalpur Jagannath Temple has also taken an insurance of 1 crore in case of any mishap in the premises.

Adequate police arrangements have been made to avoid mayhem  in the Rath Yatra in Ahmedabad due to the Hathras incident in Uttar Pradesh.

Mahendra Jha, the trustee of the Lord Jagannath  temple  appealed to the people to see God from a distance.” Don’t push for darshan. Adequate arrangements have been made by the police for the Rath Yatra. It is not necessary for everyone to see God’s darshan from near the chariot. God can be seen from far away” said Jha.

Regarding the Rath Yatra, he said that on July 5, Bhagwan Saraspur will return to his temple from his mother’s house on the day of Amas. After returning to the temple, the Netrotsava ceremony will be performed in the early morning of the Lord. After performing this ceremony, the flag hoisting of the temple will be done.

Former Deputy Chief Minister of the state Nitin Patel will also be present. On the next day i.e. on July 6, the Lord will assume golden attire. Gajraj will be worshipped in the afternoon. At three o’clock in the afternoon, the three chariots will be brought to the temple premises and the prana pratistha of the chariot will be performed. In the evening special aarti and pooja will be offered to God. In which the Chief Minister of the state will also be present.

On July 7, the gates of the temple will open at 3.45 am, the next day at 3.45 am, and at four o’clock the mangal aarti of God will be performed in the presence of Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

At 4.30 in the morning a special sacrifice will be offered to the Lord. Lord will enter the chariot at 5.45 am. Rath Yatra will start at 7 am. The chief minister of the state, Bhupendra Patel, will perform the Pahind ceremony with a golden broom and the Rath Khechi Ratha Yatra will begin.

About 2,000 monks and saints will come from Haridwar, Ayodhya, Nasik, Ujjain, Jagannath Puri and Saurashtra to participate in the Rath Yatra.
