Sirohi (Rajasthan) : Prompt Group, a major supplier of dairy supply chain equipment and software solutions, unveiled ten Solar MilkoChill units (instant milk chillers), a pioneering invention in the dairy sector, in the Sirohi area of Rajasthan.

The cutting-edge Solar MilkoChill units were installed at Asha Mahila Milk Producers Company Limited thanks to financial assistance from the World Wide Fund (WWF) India.

The time gap between milking and the initial cooling is the most important factor influencing milk quality. Milk should be cooled as soon as possible to prevent bacterial development and maintain its freshness. Prompt’s Solar MilkoChill machine allows milk to be chilled at the source, decreasing spoiling, keeping quality, improving shelf life, and thereby enhancing farmers’ revenue.

“Our Solar MilkoChill unit is a pioneering product that marks a significant leap in improving milk quality through innovative solar-powered chilling technology,” stated Shridhar Mehta, Managing Director of Prompt Group, on the occasion. The innovation, which has the potential to change the dairy sector, provides a viable and complementary alternative to conventional bulk milk cooler options. It highlights our commitment to bringing about good change in the dairy sector and is consistent with our aim of ushering in sustainable dairy solutions.”

“We are pleased to have collaborated with Prompt Group to install Solar MilkoChill units,” stated Dharmendra Malik, CEO of Asha Mahila Milk Producers Company, in his welcoming speech. Adopting quick chilling technology WILL help dairy farmers as well as dairies by ensuring enhanced milk quality and higher dairy product quality. Better milk quality also provides new chances for dairy farmers and dairies to increase their profits.”

The Solar MilkoChill machine provides an innovative solution to the issues provided by inconsistent power supply, which is particularly important as dairy businesses expand to new communities.

“Instant milk chilling enabled by the Solar MilkoChill units increases the shelf life of milk and better quality of milk and milk products, allowing dairy farmers to get better prices,” stated Parshottam Rupala, Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry, and Dairying, in his message. The Indian government is dedicated to promoting this and other dairy-related developments.”

Meenesh Shah, Chairman of the National Dairy Development Board (NDDB), said that new technology such as quick milk chillers would play a critical role in helping India emerge as the dairy powerhouse of the globe. He emphasised his delight that the Prompt Group’s technology is solar-powered.

Other major dairy industry executives and stakeholders spoke during the inaugural event, emphasising the significance of new technologies in determining the future of dairy farming.

The dairy sector has been advocating for the inclusion of quick milk chillers in milk chilling infrastructure in order to support the national effort to enhance milk quality in a sustainable way. It will also help the government achieve its goal of doubling farmers’ income by reducing milk spoilage and increasing profits via increased milk quality.
