8-year-old Jaybir Singh Gurudutt creates world record with plank jack feat
Eight-year-old Jaybir Singh Gurudutt of Ahmedabad has been recognised by World Records India for performing 156 plank jacks in one minute.

Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], September 23: Eight-year-old Jaybir Singh Gurudutt, a Grade 2 student of Ahmedabad International School, has created a world record by performing 156 plank jacks in one minute. The feat was recognised by World Records India. Jaybir Singh, son of Harshmeet Singh and Khushbu Kaur, began his sports training at the age of seven and has been undergoing professional training under international Wushu champion, Prime Minister Awardee & NIS Coach A Grade Amandeep Singh Gotra. The record followed a structured training programme that Jaybir Singh undertakes under the guidance of his coach. He trains for two hours every day, with the morning session focused on overall fitness, including strength, stamina, endurance, mobility, flexibility and core strength. His evening session focuses on skill development through punching, kicking, athletic drills and mixed martial arts training. Paavan Solanki, CEO of World Records India, was also present at the record attempt. Speaking on the occasion, Jaybir Singh said, “I am very happy to have achieved this record. I have worked hard during my training and was excited to see how many plank jacks I could complete in one minute. I want to continue training, take part in more sporting challenges and one day win medals for India at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.” Expert Coach Amandeep Singh Gotra said, “Jaybir Singh has trained consistently for this attempt and has shown good strength and fitness for his age. Plank jacks require core strength, stamina, coordination, and the ability to maintain the correct technique. His preparation focused on developing these areas. This record is an encouraging milestone in his sporting journey, and we will continue to work on building his overall fitness and skills.” Alongside his daily training, Jaybir Singh follows a balanced, protein-rich diet and nutrition plan. His training and nutrition programme are designed to support his growth, fitness and sporting performance. Jaybir Singh now aims to continue developing his sporting skills and compete at a higher level, with the long-term goal of winning medals for India at the Olympics, Commonwealth Games and Asian Games.
