The official X account of the has reportedly been withheld in India following a legal request, according to the movement’s founder.

The original account, launched on May 16 under the handle @CJP_2029, rapidly gained popularity online and crossed more than 200,000 followers within just a few days. Mr. Dipke claimed that the account was restricted shortly after its sudden growth and also alleged that attempts were made to target the movement’s Instagram presence.

Soon after the restriction, Mr. Dipke announced the launch of a new X account named “Cockroach Is Back,” which quickly attracted thousands of followers within hours. He stated that the team plans to challenge the matter through legal channels.

The was founded as a satirical political movement and quickly transformed into a viral social media phenomenon. The movement reportedly gained more than 14.5 million followers on Instagram, surpassing the follower count of several mainstream political organizations online.

The campaign emerged after controversial remarks allegedly referring to unemployed youth as “cockroaches” sparked public debate. Although clarification was later issued regarding the statement, the phrase triggered a wave of memes, satire, and online activism that eventually evolved into the Cockroach Janata Party movement.

Several related accounts using similar “cockroach” branding continue to remain active across social media platforms, reflecting the growing popularity of the trend among younger internet users.

The movement has also received attention from political leaders, activists, and public figures who either interacted with or commented on the campaign online. What initially began as internet satire has now evolved into a larger discussion around digital protest culture, political humour, and the growing influence of meme-driven activism in India’s online space.
