SURENDRANAGAR,GUJARAT : Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, condemning his recent controversial comments regarding Lord Shiva and Lord Ram made during an event in Chhatisgarh. Speaking at a rally, PM Modi accused Congress of attempting to sow discord among Hindu devotees by exploiting religious sentiments.

“Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge has touched a serious issue and has given a controversial statement on Lord Ram and Lord Shiva. Congress wants to make the Ram Bhakts and Shiva Bhakts to fight with each other. Ram, Krishna and Shiva are our religious tradition, even the Mughals could not destroy. They (Congress) are trying to divide the Hindu community. Congress has gone so low for polarization in the country,” asserted PM Modi.

Continuing his barrage against the opposition, PM Modi referenced Rahul Gandhi’s recent “Shakti” remarks made at a rally in Surendranagar. “Shehzada had told one month ago that he will destroy the Shakti. My Shakti is the women and mothers. We are the ‘upasak’ of Shakti in the form of Durga, Kali Ma, Saraswati, Ma Amba. Can you tolerate those who are against the ‘Shakti’ and making Lord Ram and Lord Shiva bhakts fight with each other?” questioned PM Modi.

Highlighting Gujarat’s unique celebration of the Indian constitution’s 60th anniversary in Surendranagar, PM Modi reminisced about the event, where the constitution was paraded on an elephant’s back. “Being the Chief Minister of Gujarat, I walked my path to celebrate 60 years of Indian constitution,” he reminisced. “Now, I will celebrate 75 years of Indian constitution in the nook and corner of the country, once our government is formed on June 4,” he declared.

Switching focus to the BJP’s governance record, PM Modi touted his government’s achievements while contrasting them with the alleged corruption scandals that plagued the Congress-led administration. “India was embroiled in scams worth crores of rupees 10 years ago. We saw 2G scam, coal scam, helicopter scam, defense scam, submarine scam and scams from earth, water to sky during the Congress rule. Have you heard about a single scam in the last 10 years?. This is my report card of 10 years,” he asserted.

PM Modi also highlighted India’s transformation on the global stage under his leadership. “10 years ago world was considering India as a ‘Boj’ (liability), and they thought it is ‘Kangal Desh, Kamjor Desh’. Our neighbours were doing terrorist attack and big companies were not coming. Today, India has become famous in America, Europe, Australia, Japan…why? It is not due to Modi, it because of your valuable votes to the BJP,” he remarked.
