Gujarat : Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel sanctions ₹295 crore for the Hadala to Padwala bulk pipeline project

Ahmedabad : Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has made a significant announcement to tackle the rising water demand due to the increasing development in the Rajkot urban area and the Rajkot Urban Development Authority (RUDA).

As part of this initiative, a scheme worth ₹295.38 crore has been sanctioned for the construction of a bulk pipeline stretching from the Hadala Pumping Station to the Kotharia Head Works, under Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited. Upon the completion of the bulk pipeline project, an additional 135 MLD of water will be provided to 18 lakh residents living in various villages across the Rajkot district, including the outgrowth areas and RUDA zones of Rajkot city.

To achieve this goal, the Hadala to Padwala bulk pipeline project with a capacity of 135 MLD will be implemented. This project will benefit villages, and towns, as well as the Kotda, Ribda, Lodhika, and Macchu Juth Pani Purvatha Yojana (group water supply schemes) within the RUDA area surrounding Rajkot city.

According to this plan, the project will entail laying approximately 48 km of pipelines, with diameters ranging from 1500 mm to 1400 mm. Additionally, it will involve constructing storage sumps, and pump houses, and installing pumping machinery. This infrastructure will connect the existing Hadala pumping station of Gujarat Water Infrastructure Limited to the Kotharia head works.
