Ahmedabad : In a significant development, the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) of Gujarat has arrested former Gandhinagar district collector SK Langa on charges of possessing disproportionate assets. The ACB’s investigation revealed that Langa, during his tenure as a public servant, amassed assets worth Rs. 11.64 crore, far exceeding his known sources of income.
The period of alleged corrupt practices spans from April 1, 2008, to September 30, 2019. During this time, Langa served in various capacities as a public servant. A formal complaint against him was lodged on April 19 this year, initiating the investigation into his financial dealings.
The ACB’s probe concluded that Langa had accumulated wealth and properties significantly beyond his legal income. Following the investigation, Langa was arrested today from Sabarmati Jail in Ahmedabad. His arrest was executed through a transfer warrant issued by the court.
