SGCCI Global Village Opens in Surat with First-Time Exhibitors from 5 Countries

Surat | Gujarat — For the first time, exhibitors from Dubai, Australia, Japan, Thailand and Afghanistan will participate in the three-day long  ‘SGCCI Global Village’ exhibition organised by the Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) at SIECC, Sarsana in Surat starting from January 24. in this exhibition.

Anar Patel, President of Khodaldham Trust and Founder and Director of Craftroots – Crafting Stories, Stitching Cultures, will inaugurate all the three exhibitions at SIECC, Surat on January 24. The inauguration ceremony will be attended by special guests, including Shane Getson, MLA Chair, Alberta Economic Corridor, Dr. Phenyo Butale, Minister of International Relations, Botswana, and Raj Modi, Deputy Minister of Industry and Commerce, Republic of Zimbabwe.

Dubai exhibitors will showcase real estate and tourism. Australian exhibitors will showcase visa processing as well as council services. Afghan exhibitors will showcase dry fruits, spices and carpets. Thai exhibitors will showcase health, beauty and FMCG products. Japanese exhibitors will showcase logistics and courier services.

SGCCI vice-president Ashok Jirawala said that there will be a total of 16 stalls in this exhibition, including 10 from Afghanistan, 2 from Dubai, 2 from Thailand, 1 from Japan and 1 from Australia. Apart from this, there will be self-health groups through the Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam concept and more than 12 stalls from Gujarat, Maharashtra and especially Bhuj.

In addition to the countries participating in this exhibition, buyers and visitors from countries like Canada, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Ghana, Cyprus, Ethiopia and others will come and will also inform the entrepreneurs and professionals of Surat about the business opportunities in their countries.

SGCCI has organised three exhibitions under one roof at SIECC namely ‘Food and Beverages’, ‘SGCCI Global Village’ and WEE Exhibitions where national and international exhibitors will be participating. 

SGCCI president Nikhil Madrasi said that this is the second time this year that the Chamber has organized the ‘SGCCI Global Village’ Exhibition for Global Exchange and Trade. This exhibition is being organized to facilitate cultural, educational and business connections between India and other countries of the world.

In addition to representatives from more than 15 countries, there will be a significant presence of ministries and various diplomats from more than 4 countries in this exhibition. Moreover, delegations from more than 15 countries will visit the exhibition and hold B-to-B meetings with Surat industrialists, which will benefit the trade and industry of Surat and the entire South Gujarat region. It has also been planned that foreign delegations will visit more than 40 factories in Surat.

Through this exhibition, Surat industrialists and traders will get an opportunity to directly interact with the international markets of various countries and they will be able to find new business options, thereby opening up new directions for business development.
