Surat : Cricket fever has gripped Lakhigam village in Dahej, Gujarat, as the much-anticipated Lakhigam Premier League (LPL), organized by the Adani Foundation, got underway on Monday. The month-long tournament, inaugurated by village sarpanch Amarsang Rathore, brings together over 450 players from 37 teams, promising a thrilling competition and fostering community spirit.

This year’s LPL marks a collaborative effort between the Adani Foundation, Adani Petronet (Dahej) Port Limited, and the Lakhigam Yuva Mandal, with the unwavering support of the Lakhigam Gram Panchayat. The tournament transcends the boundaries of sport, aiming to unite the village youth, provide a platform for talented players, and strengthen the relationship between the community and the company.

The inaugural ceremony witnessed an enthusiastic gathering, including Sarpanch Rathore, Upsarpanch Satishbhai Gohil, Marine Head of Dahej Adani Port Pankaj Singh, Engineering Head HC Hiremath, village leaders, the Adani Foundation team, elders, panchayat members, and officials from Adani Dahej Port. The excitement was palpable as the first match commenced, setting the stage for a month of cricketing action.
