Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and the India SME Forum have come together to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). This strategic alliance aims to unite industrialists from South Gujarat, including Surat, and across the country on a single platform while promoting the development of mutual industrial and commercial relationships. The collaboration falls under the purview of the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84.

The MoU was officially inked on Friday by SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia and India SME Forum Gujarat Chapter President Nilesh Shukla. The signing ceremony marks a pivotal step towards creating a unified platform for industrial and commercial stakeholders, enabling them to engage in the internal buying and selling of products, ultimately fostering economic growth.

This momentous partnership was preceded by a visit from SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia to India SME Forum Gujarat Chapter President Nilesh Shukla and other representatives in Vadodara. During this visit, President Vaghasia presented the Mission 84 project and extended an invitation for collaboration. In response, representatives from the India SME Forum came to Surat to formalize the partnership through the signing of the MoU.

Under the terms of the MoU, the partnership seeks to bring industrialists from South Gujarat, including Surat, and those from across the nation onto a common platform. This initiative aims to facilitate the development of mutual industrial and commercial relations, allowing these stakeholders to buy and sell products among themselves.

During their discussions, SGCCI President Ramesh Vaghasia provided India SME Forum delegates with a comprehensive overview of the SGCCI Global Connect Mission 84 project. He emphasized the project’s significance in strengthening India’s economy and detailed the creation of an online international platform under the Mission 84 project. This platform is designed to boost exports from India, encompassing the entire nation, including the Gujarat region.

The Mission 84 project sets an ambitious goal of onboarding 84,000 entrepreneurs from India and connecting them with 84,000 businesspersons operating in various countries worldwide. This initiative further aims to engage 84 Chambers of Commerce from India and establish relations with Chambers of Commerce in 84 countries around the globe through the online international platform.

As part of the Mission 84 project, consuls general representing 84 countries working in India and ambassadors representing India in 84 countries across the world are also integrated into this platform. Their role is to guide entrepreneurs regarding business opportunities in their respective countries, along with the associated laws and regulations.

Nilesh Shukla, President of the India SME Forum Gujarat Chapter, expressed his commitment to facilitating the connection of industrial members from this national-level forum across India with the Mission 84 project. This partnership strives to ensure that industrialists maximize the benefits derived from this innovative platform, enhancing opportunities for growth and collaboration on a national and global scale.
