The inaugural batch of this innovative program commenced on September 9, 2023, with a grand launch event attended by esteemed dignitaries, including Dr. Kishoresinh Chavda, Vice-Chancellor of VNSGU, Dr. Rameshdan C Gadhvi, General Secretary, Surat Mayor Hemali Boghawala, Standing Committee Chairman Paresh Patel, and Nimisha Parekh, Co-Founder of MehndiCultr.

Nimisha Parekh, an internationally renowned Mehndi artist and the driving force behind this initiative, has contributed significantly to the world of Mehndi art by blending traditional Indian culture with contemporary creativity. She introduced the unique concept of converting Tamil Nadu’s Sikku Column Art into Mehndi and introduced it to a global audience. Nimisha’s dedication to her craft has led her to teach this innovative approach to budding artists at a Mehndi artists’ conference in the United States.

Known for her innovative spirit and a penchant for creating mini-trends within her art, Nimisha Parekh has gained recognition for her distinctive binary Mehndi style. Her exceptional Mehndi work on an NRI bride from Surat recently garnered widespread attention.

Notably, Nimisha Parekh was invited by Bollywood actor Sunny Deol to adorn his son Karan’s wedding with her exquisite Mehndi designs. Her artistry captivated not only the Deol family but also the media and guests in attendance. Nimisha’s “Sarvadharma Sambhavni” Mehndi, crafted on Sunny Deol’s hands, became the focal point of the event.

Beyond her creative talents, Nimisha Parekh also strives to create employment opportunities for women through Mehndi art. She envisions promoting this art not merely as a style or status symbol but as a medium to represent Indian culture and heritage.

The ‘Basics of Mehndi Entrepreneurship’ course offered by VNSGU and MehndiCultr is open to people of all ages and genders. Housewives, students, and individuals passionate about the art can enroll in this transformative 3-credit certificate course, which promises to provide participants with a strong financial foundation while preserving and celebrating the rich tradition of Mehndi artistry.
