New Delhi : A significant security breach occurred today as four Indian nationals managed to breach the high-security zone of the Indian Parliament, raising questions about the system’s effectiveness. Additionally, two others involved in the incident are yet to be identified.

Reports suggest that these six individuals connected through social media with a coordinated aim to disrupt the functioning of the Indian Parliament, contradicting the stringent security measures in place. The breach occurred in the visitors’ gallery, a place where items like pens and papers are prohibited, and entry is meticulously monitored. How these individuals managed to smuggle in equipment inside their socks or shoes into the visitors’ gallery remains a critical question being investigated by the newly formed Special Investigative Team.

This breach raises concerns about the security system’s effectiveness, especially considering a similar attack on the Parliament occurred 22 years ago during the Atal Bihari Vajpayee regime by Pakistani militants.

The individuals involved have been detained at the Parliament Street police station and are undergoing intense interrogation by police officials and CRPF authorities. A massive search has been launched to trace the family members of the four identified individuals to understand the motives behind disrupting the parliamentary system.

These individuals, hailing from various backgrounds and cities and connected through social media, allegedly conspired to disrupt the Parliament’s functioning, although their exact motives remain undisclosed. The incident prompts critical questions about security lapses, including the failure of metal detectors and other checkpoints.

Following the incident, an all-party meeting chaired by Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla was convened, where concerns over the breach were raised. While Congress accused BJP of sponsoring the breach, MPs suggested enhanced security measures and a thorough investigation.

The suspension of visitor entry, increased deployment of security personnel, and a pledge for a comprehensive review were announced by Speaker Om Birla. However, questions persist regarding how these individuals managed to breach such high-security measures on a day of significance.

The incident, initially thought to address issues like unemployment, appears more orchestrated than sporadic, involving individuals from diverse backgrounds, cities, and states. The security lapse has triggered discussions on stringent measures and accountability within the security agencies and the government.
