Vadodara : The Member of Parliament (MP) who represents the Vadodara LS constituency, Ranjanben Bhatt, is currently embroiled in a storm of controversy as a result of her alleged appearance of a video that shows her outside the Fatehgunj police station. In the video, she is seen allegedly intervening in a hit-and-run case that involved a reckless driver and two students who were injured. Concerns about justice and accountability have been raised as a result of the occurrence, which has caused citizens to express their displeasure and put doubt on the conduct of the member of parliament.

Ranjanben Bhatt, the elected representative of Vadodara, Gujarat, is under intense criticism as a result of her suspected participation in a hit-and-run incident that resulted in two students from Baroda Medical College suffering serious injuries. As a result of the event, which took place close to Nizampura, villagers have been quite angry, and Bhatt’s activities are now being investigated.

Students Pushkar Valand and Naimik Bamania, who were staying in the Samras dormitory at Baroda Medical College, were the unlucky victims of a speeding automobile driven by Kush Patel, who was just 20 years old at the time. The crash caused the children to incur brain injuries and shattered legs, which sent shockwaves throughout the town. The force of the collision caused the pupils to survive. Patel attempted to flee the scene despite the gravity of the situation; however, he was arrested by witnesses on Rajmahal Road, which is around four kilometres away.

The claim that Member of Parliament Ranjanben Bhatt was involved in the aftermath of the tragedy is what has caused the people to express their disapproval. Bhatt made the decision to go to the Fatehgunj police station, which is where Patel was being held, rather than immediately addressing the concerns of the victims and their families. As a result of the fact that Bhatt, who is purportedly connected to Patel’s family, allegedly guaranteed his release within two hours of his detention, many people are doubting her motivations and her honesty.

As a result of the role that a public official played in assisting the release of an accused person in such a severe issue, major problems about justice and fairness in the eyes of the law have been raised. It is said by critics that the activities of Bhatt erode the faith that the people have in their elected officials and raise questions about the dedication of those representatives to respecting the established legal system.

The gravity of the offence is indicated by the fact that the Fatehgunj police have filed a case against Kush Patel under a number of different sections of the Indian Penal Code and the Motor Vehicle Act, according to the sources. On the other hand, Bhatt’s involvement seemed to hasten Patel’s release on bail, which sparked more resentment among the general population.

The Member of Parliament Ranjanben Bhatt justified her conduct by indicating that she was informed about the tragedy following her return from Delhi. This was in reaction to the growing criticism that she was receiving. She said that neither the harmed pupils nor their family members had filed a formal complaint, which is indicative of a desire to make amends amongst the many parties involved. On the other hand, her explanation has not been very effective in calming the wrath and fury of the community, which wants responsibility and justice for those who have been victimised.

As the scandal continues to develop, people of Vadodara are left struggling with significant concerns about the role that elected leaders have in protecting the safety of their citizens, as well as justice and responsibility.
