Gandhinagar : On the second day of the 11th Chintan Shibir, held at Somnath, Gujarat made significant strides toward integrating deep technology and artificial intelligence (AI) into governance. Chief Minister  Bhupendra Patel attended a keynote session focusing on ‘Use of Deep Tech for Strengthening Government Services’ and ‘A.I. and Data Analytics.’

The session featured Nvidia Director Jigar Halani, who detailed the transformative potential of AI in government services and public welfare. Highlighting Gujarat’s vision to become a model state for AI, Halani emphasised the role of technology in improving accessibility to government schemes and streamlining management.

AI for Governance and Public Welfare

During his presentation, Jigar Halani demonstrated the capabilities of AI, including its use in Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s popular radio program ‘Mann Ki Baat’. With AI, the program can now be accessed in 23 languages, ensuring a wider reach. He also discussed AI’s growing role in enhancing efficiency in legal systems and courts.

Halani presented innovative strategies to make public welfare campaigns more effective. By leveraging AI, the government can identify and reach underserved populations more efficiently, ensuring services are delivered to those who need them most.

Boosting Local Arts and Employment with AI

Gujarat’s rich culture, arts, and heritage also found a prominent place in the discussion. Halani explained how AI can spotlight local artisans and their crafts on global platforms. This approach could significantly boost employment opportunities while promoting Gujarat’s cultural identity worldwide.

The session emphasized utilizing AI to showcase local products effectively in international markets, providing artisans with larger-scale business opportunities. Halani illustrated how AI could act as a bridge between traditional craftsmanship and modern digital marketing strategies, fostering sustainable growth for the artisan community.

Empowering Gujarat’s Youth with AI

The presentation also focused on empowering the youth by creating AI-driven employment opportunities. By adopting AI solutions, Gujarat can pave the way for new job avenues, aligning with the Prime Minister’s vision of a developed and self-reliant India.

Halani outlined practical steps the state government could take to enhance AI adoption, positioning Gujarat as a leader in leveraging emerging technologies.

Collective Efforts Toward AI Integration

The session saw active participation from State Cabinet members, Chief Secretary  Rajkumar, and senior officials. The discussions revolved around using AI to foster overall state development and align with national goals.
