A young tyre dealer gave new lease of life to three people by donating his vital organs

Vapi (Gujarat) [India]: Yash Varma, a 25-year-old brain dead businessman gave new lease of life to three individuals after his family members donated his vital organs after the Surat-based Donate Life NGO counselled them on the importance of organ donation on Sunday.

Yash, a dealer of various tyre brands in Palgargh’s Bordi coastal town had met with an accident while driving back to his home in Vapi on April 13. He suffered major head and body injuries when the motorcycle he was riding slipped on the bridge on the coastal route.

After the primary treatment at the public health center in Umbergaon, Yash was shifted to Vapi’s Haria  L.G. Rotary Hospital. His CT scan report suggested a severe brain hemorrhage due to the accident and injuries on his head. After more than a week’s treatment, Yash was declared brain dead by the doctors of the Haria hospital on April 22.

Nilesh Mandlewala, founder and president of Donate Life said, “Mansi Varma, wife of the cadaver donor took a brave decision to donate his vital organs to save the lives of other individuals in need of organ transplants. Yash has left behind his four-year-old daughter and a two-year-old boy. They agreed to donate his vital organs Kidney and Liver  which could give new lease of life to three persons”

With this about 1009 organs and tissue have been donated through  Donate Life, giving new lease of life to 917 persons across the country and globe.
