GANDHINAGAR : Gujarat has put its investment pitch on the national stage, with Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel calling upon global investors to partner in building a “Viksit Gujarat for Viksit Bharat 2047” at the curtain-raiser of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2027.
Speaking at the event at Bharat Mandapam, Patel said the summit, launched under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership in 2003, had evolved into a symbol of global investor confidence and a platform for knowledge sharing.
“The Vibrant Gujarat Summit has demonstrated to the world that policy stability, transparency and speed attract investment,” Patel said, stressing that Gujarat’s investment ecosystem was built around skilled manpower, trust, security and efficient governance.
The 2027 summit, themed “Viksit Gujarat – Shaping Global Future,” will focus on emerging sectors including semiconductors, fintech, green hydrogen, artificial intelligence and green growth.
Patel said Gujarat, after establishing its strength in traditional industries, was now preparing to lead in future industries. He also linked VGGS-2027 with the Prime Minister’s Saptadhara vision, covering manufacturing, agriculture, technology, connectivity, defence, green and blue economy and soft power.
Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghavi described Gujarat as an example of combining vision with execution.
“Vision without execution is just a speech, and execution without vision is just a rush of activity. Gujarat has set an example by combining a clear vision with swift and effective execution,” Sanghavi said.
He highlighted Gujarat’s economic expansion, saying its economy had grown from around ₹1.42 lakh crore in 2002-03 to approximately ₹27 lakh crore today. He also said the state had attracted USD 74.6 billion in FDI and handled over 40% of India’s cargo through its ports.
Union Minister Mansukh Mandaviya urged investors to explore opportunities in green hydrogen, hydrogen storage, data centres and semiconductors.
