GANDHINAGAR : In yet another measure targeted toward the youth of Gujarat, the State Government’s Department of Science and Technology has signed an MoU in Gandhinagar with Automation Anywhere, a global leader in Artificial Intelligence (AI), Agentic Automation, Intelligent Automation and Robotic Process Automation (RPA), for youth training, capacity building and AI-related initiatives.

Automation Anywhere Co-Founder and COO  Ankur Kothari signed an MoU with Minister of Science and technology, Gujarat Government, Arjun Modhwadia on Monday.

Minister of Science and Technology Arjun Modhwadia said that on the occasion of the 80th Independence Day celebrations, Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a programme to provide AI training to around 1 crore youth across the country. He said that under the guidance of Chief Minister  Bhupendra Patel, the MoU has been signed to further strengthen Gujarat’s AI ecosystem by promoting AI awareness, capacity building, and collaboration among the government, industry, and academic institutions.

The minister stated that under this collaboration, AI and Machine Learning (ML) awareness and capacity-building programmes will be organised for students, youth, government officers and employees, MSMEs, startups and academic institutions across Gujarat. He added that training programmes, workshops, seminars, webinars, boot camps and certification courses will also be conducted. On this occasion, the Minister congratulated the Automation Anywhere team on the signing of the MoU.

Under this collaboration, Automation Anywhere will provide approximately Rs. 100 crore as financial support over the period of 10 years for youth training, capacity building and AI-related initiatives. The company will support AI/ML and emerging technology training programmes in Gujarat and provide Trainers, Subject Matter Experts and Mentors at its own cost. Automation Anywhere will also provide training curricula, learning content and a certification framework. Furthermore, Community Edition licenses of its no-code/low-code Automation Success Platform will be provided to enable trainees to gain practical experience.

The Department of Science and Technology will coordinate with various government departments, academic institutions, youth, industry organisations, startups and other stakeholders to support the implementation of the programmes. Wherever possible, the State Government will provide venues and the necessary infrastructure for conducting training programmes.

This MoU will help create a skilled workforce in AI and emerging technologies in Gujarat and strengthen collaboration among the government, industry and academic sectors. It will also increase awareness of AI, automation and other emerging technologies among students, government officers and employees, MSMEs and startups.
