A fire erupted early Sunday morning at a plastic granules and mould manufacturing unit in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. Authorities confirmed that no casualties were reported in the incident.

The blaze started around 8:00 AM at Processo Plast Enterprise located in the Bapunagar area. According to Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Additional Chief Officer (Fire), Mihir Rana, the fire originated in the ground-floor storage section shortly after the night shift had ended.
Thick black smoke was seen rising from the factory and could be spotted from nearby localities, causing concern among residents.
Firefighting Operation
Fire control teams rushed to the site immediately after receiving the alert. Around nine fire tenders, along with additional firefighting vehicles, were deployed to contain the blaze.
After nearly three hours of continuous efforts, the fire was successfully brought under control by 11:00 AM. Firefighters also ensured that the flames did not spread to the upper floor of the facility.
Damage Report
While no injuries or fatalities were reported, significant damage occurred on the ground floor. Machinery and stored plastic materials were destroyed in the fire.
Cause Under Investigation
Officials stated that the exact cause of the fire is still unknown and is currently under investigation. Preliminary observations suggest it broke out after the factory had closed operations for the night shift.
