Ahmedabad | Gujarat — The Gujarat Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) nabbed a suspicious youth from the Charpul area in Navsari on January 25. During the investigation it was revealed that the accused identified as Faizan Sheikh was influenced by the radical ideology of the banned terrorist organisations Jaish-e-Mohammed and Al-Qaeda.

After being radicalised through online media and other means, he targeted individuals from a specific group with the aim of spreading fear and creating chaos in the society.

ATS sources revealed that Faizan  had illegally obtained weapons to carry out the terrorist act. Currently, the ATS has arrested the terrorist in this case and started an investigation. Investigation is underway to find out who supplied the weapons and whether anyone else was with him.

Earlier on December 4, 2025, the Gujarat ATS had busted a spy network. The ATS had arrested two accused for spying. A woman named Rashmani Ravindra Pal from Goa and a man named A.K. Singh from Daman was arrested. Both the accused were in touch with Pakistan and were working for ISIS. They used to spy on sensitive areas and provide information.

The accused A.K. Singh was a subedar in the army and used to provide information about the army to Pakistani spies. While Rashmani used to honeytrap the army personnel and provide information to Pakistani handlers. She was also in touch with a youth from Kachhai village of Mehmadawada taluka. After sensitive links with this youth came to light, the police took further action.

One of the arrested spies, a woman named Rashmani Ravindra Pal, was in touch with a young man from Kachhai village. The accused had given a big lure to trap the young man. They had lured the young man to do video editing work for YouTube and in return, a monthly salary of ₹20,000, which was part of trapping the young man for spying activities.

As part of this conspiracy, another woman named ‘Radhika’ had also sent a router, charging cable and other devices to the young man from Delhi through a courier. The same woman had saved sensitive documents of the Indian Army in the young man’s laptop and had them zoomed in to view. These documents were sent five different times between 23 November 2024 and 19 March 2025.

The young man contacted the Gujarat ATS as the women’s activities seemed suspicious

However, the young man soon became suspicious. Although these documents were scanned and sent, no editing was done to upload them on YouTube. This made him suspicious of the women’s activities. Realizing the seriousness of this matter related to the security of the country, the young man, as a precaution, contacted the Gujarat ATS Police on 3 April 2025 and informed them about the entire matter.

It is noteworthy that Gujarat ATS has caught 8 people in the last 5 months for anti-national activities, including 3 terrorists Azad Sheikh, Dr. Ahmed Mohyuddin Syed Jilani and Mohammad Suhail, who were recruited by Ahmedabad on November 7, 2025, and four people associated with Al-Qaeda 4 months ago. Out of these four, two people are from Ahmedabad and Modasa in Gujarat, while two people are from Delhi and Noida.

On November 7, 2025, Gujarat ATS received information that a suspicious person named Ahmed Mohyuddin Syed, who was involved in anti-national activities, had come to Gujarat. After this, the ATS team verified the information and checked his movement by doing technical analysis. This effort, which lasted from morning till night, initially did not yield any significant success, but around 9 pm, Ahmed Mohyuddin’s movement was seen towards Kalol, and the ATS team made a plan to catch him.
