Ahmedabad |Gujarat —-  The skies are no longer the limit for Vidhi Harshadbhai Parmar of Ahmedabad, who has fulfilled her childhood dream of becoming a commercial pilot with the support of the Commercial Pilot Training Loan Scheme for Scheduled Caste Students introduced by the Gujarat government.

Under this scheme, Vidhi received a loan of ₹25 lakh to pursue her Commercial Pilot License (CPL) training at a prestigious flight school in Miami, USA in 2023–24. Today, she proudly holds her commercial pilot license and serves as a ground instructor, earning ₹40,000 per month.

Dreams Take Flight

For Vidhi, who grew up in Vejalpur, Ahmedabad, the dream of flying high was always in her heart. But like many aspiring aviators, financial hurdles stood in the way. The state’s special loan scheme turned that dream into reality.

“I had a dream of becoming a pilot since childhood. The Commercial Pilot Training Loan Scheme gave me the wings to achieve it. With the ₹25 lakh loan, I was able to complete my CPL training in Miami. Today, not only have I fulfilled my dream, but I am also supporting my family financially. For this, I am truly grateful to the Gujarat Government,” Vidhi shared with pride.

About the Loan Scheme

The Commercial Pilot Training Loan Scheme for SC Students, run by the Social Justice and Empowerment Department of Gujarat, provides loans of up to ₹25 lakh at just 4% annual interest.

Eligibility requires SC students to have passed Class 10 or 12 or equivalent.

Applicants must hold the necessary certificates as per Indian or foreign aviation authorities.

The loan covers tuition fees and incidental expenses for pilot training in India or abroad.

The initiative reflects the government’s commitment to empowering underprivileged communities by opening doors to high-value professions like aviation.

Empowering Women Through Opportunities

The timing of Vidhi’s achievement holds special significance during Navratri, a festival that celebrates women as Shakti Swarupa. Her story exemplifies how state-backed opportunities are enabling women to excel in fields once dominated by men.

Highlighting the government’s vision, officials noted that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel have consistently emphasized women empowerment as a cornerstone of India’s development journey towards 2047.

“Women are proving their strength across every sector. With the right support, they can soar to new heights. Gujarat’s SC pilot training loan scheme is one such transformative initiative,” said a senior official from the Social Justice and Empowerment Department.
