Surat | Gujarat — A shocking case of campus violence has emerged from PP Savani University, where a tribal student from Dharoli village was allegedly attacked by a group of students on Monday. The incident has raised serious concerns about law and order on educational campuses in Gujarat.

According to initial information, the attack was linked to an ongoing gang war among certain students, who are also allegedly involved in drug-related activities. The victim, who had no connection with these groups, was targeted in what appears to be a spillover of the violence gripping the university.

“This is not just a case of campus bullying—it points to a much deeper problem of gangs and drugs infiltrating our universities,” said a local resident who did not wish to be named.

Congress Calls for Immediate Probe

Reacting strongly to the incident, Congress State General Secretary Sandeep Mangrola demanded urgent intervention from the Gujarat Police.

“We demand that the police immediately investigate the attack, take strict legal action against all guilty students, and file criminal charges without delay,” Mangrola said in a statement.

He further warned that if the authorities failed to act decisively, the incident could spiral into a larger political and social issue. “If proper action is not taken, this issue will take the form of a huge agitation,” Mangrola cautioned.

The attack has triggered widespread debate over safety in private universities, especially those attracting students from tribal and rural backgrounds. Parents and community leaders have voiced concerns that drug trade and gang rivalries are endangering the lives of innocent students.

“This is an educational institution, not a battleground,” said a community activist. “The government must ensure that campuses remain safe spaces for learning.”

The Blunt Times tried to reach the spokesperson of the PP Savani university, but he was not available for comments. The official statement of the university will be carried once it is made available.
