Ahmedabad : Storyteller, filmmaker and sound designer from Gujarat, Aniket Singh Solanki, is now showcasing his talent in cinematic arts in Bollywood. He has worked as the supervising sound editor for the Bollywood thriller The Room, starring noted actors Anupam Kher and Parvin Dabas.

Aniket pursued his studies at the globally renowned USC School of Cinematic Arts and trained under Hollywood expert Alex McDowell. He also collaborated with Oscar-winning professionals like Stephen Flick and Midge Costin. After receiving advanced training in sound, visual effects and presentation technology, and contributing to several projects in Hollywood, Aniket is now focusing on Bollywood.

Speaking about his work, Aniket said, “Filmmaking is a field where countless people try their luck. Behind the scenes of what you see on the screen lies the contribution of many technical experts. As a sound designer, I feel sound designers are the unsung heroes of the film industry. Recently, I worked on The Room, a Bollywood thriller film that is set to release by the end of this year. The sounds you hear in films are not real. They aren’t recorded on set but are recreated during post-production. I design sound after understanding the story and script, striving to make the film more impactful through sound.”

Talking about the challenges of sound design and mixing, Aniket said, “Every frame of a film needs meticulous attention, and sound must be aligned accordingly. Since the entire film depends heavily on sound, syncing it perfectly with visuals is critical.”

The Room is set for release in both India and the US in November 2024.
