Gujarati Film ‘Kutch Express’ receives 3 Awards 

Gandhinagar : In a significant achievement for Gujarati cinema, Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has extended his heartfelt congratulations to the team behind the film Kutch Express. The film clinched three prestigious awards at the 70th National Film Awards 2022, announced on Friday, August 16. Directed by Viral Shah and produced by Parthiv Gohil and Manasi Parekh, Kutch Express emerged as a standout, receiving accolades in multiple categories.

The film, which delves into the theme of rural women’s empowerment through local handicrafts and artistic endeavors, was honored with the award for Best Feature Film Promoting National and Social Values. This award recognizes films that significantly contribute to the promotion of national and social values through their storytelling. The film’s narrative, focusing on the empowerment of rural women and the promotion of their artisanal skills, has been widely celebrated for its impactful message and representation.

In addition to this top honor, Kutch Express also received accolades for Best Costume Design, awarded to Nikki Joshi, whose work brilliantly highlighted the traditional attire and cultural aesthetics of the region. The film also celebrated a personal victory with Manasi Parekh winning the Best Actress award for her compelling performance. Parekh’s portrayal of a rural woman championing local crafts has been praised for its depth and authenticity.
