Vadodara, India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with Spanish President Pedro Sanchez on Monday at the Durbar Hall complex of Laxmi Vilas Palace to strengthen bilateral ties across various sectors. The discussions focused on enhancing cooperation in fields like economy, defense, technology, and renewable energy, as well as reaffirming their shared commitment to global peace and prosperity.

The meeting was a significant follow-up to the inauguration of the TATA-Airbus C295 aircraft production facility, where both leaders emphasized their dedication to a robust India-Spain partnership. This is your first visit to India. Last year in New Delhi, we all felt your absence. It’s a pleasure to welcome you to India during Diwali,” said PM Modi. He likened the festival’s energy and enthusiasm to the reinvigorated India-Spain relations catalyzed by the visit.

PM Modi also praised Gujarat’s rich culture, describing it as the “land of festivals and enthusiasm,” and emphasized the historical roots of the India-Spain partnership. “With the inauguration of the C295 plant, we’re beginning a new chapter. Our shared commitment to democracy and the rule of law connects us, and we have strong ties across various fields,” he remarked.
