Ahmedabad : A 15-day-old child died and about nine people sustained serious burn injuries in an unfortunate event took place in Ahmedabad on Thursday morning when a significant fire broke out at an apartment belonging to Khwaja in the neighbourhood of Patel Vas, Danilimda. There was widespread fear and injuries among the inhabitants as a result of the fire, which is believed to have started in the parking lot and swiftly spread to the second level.

As a result of the event, an infant who was just 15 days old passed away, according to Dr. Leena Dabhi, the Superintendent of Maninagar LG Hospital, which is where the victims were sent for treatment. “In addition to the eight persons who were injured, there were two people who suffered from serious burns. Some of the surviving persons have been harmed by smoke inhalation and are presently undergoing care for their condition.

The emergency call that was received at 6:15 in the morning was promptly attended to by the fire department. “Two fire tenders from the Jamalpur fire station were immediately dispatched to the scene,” an officer from the fire department had claimed. “By the time we arrived, the fire had already gone to the second story because it had crept up the stairs. The fire was quickly brought under control by our team via the use of water cannons.

Over 27 people who were trapped inside the building were rescued thanks to the prompt action of the fire department, which stopped the situation from spreading further and made it easier to rescue them. Nevertheless, the community is left with a profound wound as a result of the death of the small kid.

Currently, the inquiry on what caused the fire is still ongoing. The tragedy serves as a jarring reminder of the need of fire safety measures in residential structures, notably the necessity of ensuring that escape routes are unobstructed and that fire alarms are operational.

It is a narrative that is still evolving. As new information becomes available, we will make the necessary adjustments to this page.
