Surat : Akhsah Sorens Parmar, a young sensation from Surat, has etched her name in the annals of cricketing history by delivering a breathtaking performance in her debut match at the prestigious Reliance G-1 Cup Under-15 Inter-State Women’s Cricket Tournament. The thirteen-year-old prodigy showcased her mettle by scoring an unbeaten 154 off just 115 balls against Goa, setting a remarkable record that reverberated across the cricketing fraternity.

Akhsah ‘s exceptional innings, comprising 25 boundaries, not only stamped her authority but also steered Gujarat towards a resounding victory. In a stunning display of all-around prowess, she didn’t limit herself to just batting heroics. Parmar also made crucial contributions with the ball, claiming two valuable wickets in the same match, further cementing her status as a standout talent.

Her brilliance didn’t wane in subsequent matches. Against Saurashtra, Parmar blazed her way to an electrifying 124 off 81 balls, featuring four sixes and twenty fours, solidifying her reputation as a rising star in the cricketing arena. Her consistent stellar performances earned her the prestigious ‘Player of the Match’ accolade in both encounters, affirming her meteoric rise in the tournament.

Parmar’s journey to cricketing stardom commenced at a young age, shaped by her early tryst with hockey at Lourdes Convent School. Under the guidance of sports coach Parag Chandrate, she excelled in state-level hockey tournaments and the Khel Mahakumbha, showcasing her determination and skill on the field. At the age of eight, she ventured into cricket, training rigorously at the KAPS Academy under coach Vikas Wadiwala.

Her dedication and talent didn’t go unnoticed. At just twelve years old, Parmar was selected as a prospective cricketer for the GCA Gujarat Cricket Association Under-19 team, marking a significant milestone in her burgeoning career. Now, at thirteen-and-a-half, she has earned a spot in the GCA Under-15 squad, amplifying her prowess on the cricket pitch.

Recently participating in a nine-day intensive training camp in Ahmedabad, Parmar caught the attention of selectors with her stellar performances, contributing significantly to Gujarat’s triumph in the Reliance G-1 Inter-State Women’s Cricket Tournament.

Despite her rigorous cricketing schedule, Parmar maintains a delicate balance between her passion for the sport, academics, music, and reading. Her relentless dedication sees her devote fourteen to fifteen hours daily, nurturing her multifaceted interests while nurturing her dream of representing India in the ICC Women’s T-20 World Cup.

Acknowledging Parmar’s exceptional achievements, GCA coach Smriti Singh, Falguni, SDCI secretary Naimesh Desai, BCCI coach Apoorva Desai, and Lourdes Convent Principal Rev Bindhu extended their heartfelt congratulations to the young cricket sensation, recognizing her exceptional talent and unwavering commitment to the game.
