Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], May 25: Actor Himanshu Goel has been receiving widespread appreciation from audiences and theatre lovers for his impactful performance in Echoes on Stage, the recently staged &  highly talked-about production presented by Chilsag Theatre Company in Mumbai. Conceptualized & directed by Natya Bhushan Awardee Sachin Gupta, the production emerged as one of the most appreciated theatre presentations in the city in recent times. A major highlight of the production was the theatrical interpretation of excerpts from legendary poet Ramdhari Singh Dinkar’s iconic literary work Rashmirathi. Himanshu Goel, along with a talented ensemble cast, brought emotional intensity & dramatic energy to the stage, earning praise for his strong voice projection, sincerity & honest performance style. Audiences in Mumbai particularly appreciated the emotional depth he brought to the production, making his performance one of the most discussed aspects of the evening. Speaking about his experience, Himanshu Goel said that theatre continues to remain the foundation of his artistic journey despite his growing work in cinema and digital projects. “Theatre teaches an actor honesty, discipline & patience. Whatever success I have received in my career today is because of theatre. Performing live in front of an audience keeps you grounded & constantly pushes you to improve,” said Himanshu Goel. The actor also opened up about working under director Sachin Gupta & the rigorous rehearsal process followed during Echoes on Stage. “Sachin Gupta sir is very strict and disciplined during rehearsals. But that discipline eventually reflects in the performance. Working with him has made me more sincere and focused towards my craft as an actor,” he added. Himanshu Goel also praised his fellow performers and acknowledged the collective effort that made the production successful. He especially appreciated Pankhuri Gidwani for her portrayal of Draupadi. “Pankhuri gave a wonderful performance as Draupadi. She brought grace and emotional strength to the role,” he said. The actor further praised performers Madhuri Pawar, Sabby Suri & Juily Meshram for their performances in the production and described them as “fantastic actors who added tremendous energy to the stage.” The ensemble cast of Echoes on Stage also included talented actors such as Anusha Sampat, Aparna Singh Jadon, Jennifer Emanuel, Bhavya Sharma, Luv Kaushik, Isha Keskar, Nitika Mehla, Sheetal Kawa, Dhwani Bhatia, Raakshaa Shetty, Ishani Banerjee and Reyhna Pandit, all of whom contributed significantly to the production’s success. Apart from theatre, Himanshu Goel has also been steadily building a diverse body of work in films and music-based projects. He had earlier received appreciation for his performance in the 2025 film Sundarnagar Ki Sundari, which released in August last year and gained positive audience response. His other projects include the musical album Pakki Wali Yaari alongside Riva Arora, Mahamrityunjay featuring Vidya Malavade and Coach with veteran actor Raza Murad. Despite his growing presence in cinema, the actor believes theatre remains an essential part of his creative identity & continues to sharpen his understanding of performance. The success of Echoes on Stage once again highlighted the artistic legacy of Chilsag Theatre Company, which has completed 23 years of contribution to performing arts. Founded in 2003 by Sachin Gupta, the company has established itself as one of India’s internationally recognised theatre institutions known for meaningful storytelling and artistic collaborations. Over the years, more than 1,000 actors have performed with Chilsag across productions staged in cities including New York, London, Toronto, Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore and Chennai. The company has also worked with artists from over twenty countries and presented works inspired by literary legends such as Henrik Ibsen, Anton Chekhov, Rabindranath Tagore, Premchand, Amrita Pritam, Arthur Miller and Ramdhari Singh Dinkar. Apart from staging original and adapted plays, Chilsag has also contributed actively towards Theatre in Education and Drama Therapy initiatives while continuously encouraging young talent through workshops and performance platforms. The company and its founder have also received appreciation from distinguished personalities including former President of India A. P. J. Abdul Kalam and former Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit. Director Sachin Gupta, known for his disciplined and actor-oriented approach towards theatre and filmmaking, remains one of the most respected names associated with contemporary Indian theatre. An alumnus of the prestigious Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute in New York, Gupta has written eighteen original plays and directed several acclaimed productions and films under the Chilsag banner. His films including Paranthe Wali Gali and Pakhi received critical appreciation for their storytelling and performances. He is currently directing a new feature film slated for release in August 2026. The overwhelming response received by Echoes on Stage in Mumbai once again demonstrated the growing interest of audiences in meaningful theatre experiences driven by strong performances and literary depth. For Himanshu Goel, the production has become another important milestone in a career that successfully balances both theatre and cinema while staying rooted in artistic discipline and sincerity. As audiences continue to appreciate actors who value substance and craft over superficial stardom, Himanshu Goel’s performance in Echoes on Stage stands as a reminder of the enduring power of theatre and its ability to shape versatile and emotionally truthful performers.
