Two nabbed in Gruesome Murder of Scrap Godown Owner in Dadra and Nagar Haveli

Silvassa : The Dadra and Nagar Haveli (DNH) police have apprehended two individuals suspected of being involved in the brutal murder of Mayanuddin Sheikh, a 38-year-old scrap godown owner in Rakholi School Faliya, Silvassa. T

The accused, identified as Ritesh Kumar, a driver of the scrap vehicle, and his accomplice Sonusinh Jailalsinh Gond, were arrested by the DNH police in Silvassa.

The heinous crime, which sent shockwaves through the local community, occurred on October 20 when the scrap godown was devoid of any witnesses. The accused reportedly resorted to violence as a result of a dispute over unpaid salary, with Ritesh Kumar allegedly intending to send money to his family in Mirzapur, Uttar Pradesh.

During the horrific incident, the accused used an iron pipe to brutally assault Mayanuddin, inflicting fatal head injuries and causing significant harm to his face.

The investigation unfolded rapidly, with authorities locating the vehicle used by the perpetrators for their escape within Rakholi. Through a combination of technical surveillance and local intelligence, the police managed to track down and apprehend Ritesh Kumar in the Naroli area.

Following intense interrogation, Ritesh Kumar eventually confessed to the crime. Subsequently, his accomplice, Sonusinh Jailalsinh Gond, was identified and taken into custody. Both individuals have acknowledged their roles in the gruesome murder.

Jainul Abdin, also known as Rajjab Mayanuddin Sheikh and the son of the deceased, detailed in his complaint that Ritesh, who was employed as a driver by his father, had gone missing from the location on the day of the incident. The alleged motive for the assault was a dispute over unpaid wages. Notably, the Verna car belonging to the deceased was also reported missing.

Jainul Abdin lodged a formal complaint against Ritesh for the assault on his father, Mayanuddin, with the intent to cause him serious harm or death. The arrest of the accused represents a significant step toward bringing justice to the family and closure to a community deeply affected by this tragic event.
