Surat : The Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) is gearing up to host a transformative three-day event, the ‘Surat Start-up Summit 2023.’ This groundbreaking summit aims to invigorate the startup ecosystem in Surat and kindle the entrepreneurial spirit within the city while also fostering connections between established businesses and budding startups.

The summit, scheduled to commence on October 27, promises to be a pivotal event that will bring together a diverse and innovative range of startups, venture capital managers, and investors. With the aim of bolstering the city’s position as a finance capital hub for startups, the Surat Start-up Summit 2023 is expected to have far-reaching implications.

Notably, the summit will be inaugurated by Gujarat’s Home Minister, Harsh Sanghavi, at the Platinum Hall within the Surat International Exhibition and Convention Centre (SIECC). The event will feature Chief Guest Banchanadi Pani (IAS), Commissioner of Technical Education, Government of Gujarat, and Hiranmay Mahanta, CEO of Gujarat Start-Up and Innovation Hub (I-Hub), among other distinguished guests.

The summit is poised to host around 50 startups, and an impressive 70% of these entrepreneurs hail from Surat itself. Additionally, startups from nearby cities, such as Ahmedabad and Vadodara, have also enthusiastically participated in the event, showcasing a plethora of innovative ideas and business ventures.

The startup participants span a wide array of industries, from solar energy and software technology to women’s health, diamond, and architecture and interior designing. Many of these startups, which were initiated before 2019, have a rich wealth of experience to draw from.

The Surat Start-up Summit 2023 holds special significance, as it will also serve as a platform for the road show of the Gujarat Vibrant Start-up Summit, scheduled for December 2023.

The event organizers are taking extraordinary measures to ensure its success. They have invited approximately 50 venture capital managers from across the country to address startups and young entrepreneurs during the three-day event. Additionally, the summit is expected to attract nearly 1,000 businessmen, who will not only learn from and inspire these innovative startups but also be encouraged to support them in their entrepreneurial endeavors.

Unicorns, representing companies valued at over $1 billion, will also be present at the summit, hosting sessions related to technology and artificial intelligence. This promises to be a significant opportunity for budding entrepreneurs to gain insights from some of the industry’s most influential figures.
