Surat: The Tiranga Rally organized by the Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) Surat unit to condemn the detention of AAP Gujarat President Gopal Italia by Delhi police in connection with the alleged ‘derogatory’ remarks on Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a cold response on Thursday.
The rally that was organized at Mini Bazaar in Varachha, the stronghold of AAP witnessed the participation of fewer than 150 workers. The workers carrying placards and banners ‘I Support Gopal Italia’ gathered at the Mini Bazaar chowk on Thursday afternoon. The rally was organized under the leadership of AAP leader Manoj Sorathiya.
However, Manoj Sorathiya appeared at the venue late sensing the flopshow of the Tiranga Rally.
Political experts said the AAP Gujarat President is detained by the Delhi police and less than 150 workers gathering at the rally for the protest could have serious political fallout. It seems that AAP is losing ground among the Patidars in the diamond district.
