Mumbai (Maharashtra) [India], November 13: At a time when beauty education serves as both a dream and a booming sector, celebrated hairstylist and educator Qurat Syed Deshmukh offers a candid look into the world of salon academies—revealing what really defines the journey of India’s next-generation stylists.

Having trained hundreds of budding professionals through her salon and education initiatives, Qurat asserts that salon academies can become either a strong launching pad or a stumbling block for young stylists—entirely depending on the choices they make.

“There’s a huge difference between learning a skill and mastering an art. Many academies focus on speed and certification over creativity and discipline,” says Qurat. “Students must look beyond brand names and ask who’s actually teaching me, what am I really learning, and how will this shape my artistry.”

While academies have made professional beauty education more accessible, Qurat points out that commercialisation often overshadows quality training. The growing number of short-term “crash courses” and influencer-led classes may promise quick fame but fail to deliver the depth needed for a sustainable career.

According to Qurat, an ideal salon academy should strike a balance between technical precision, practical exposure, and creative exploration, enabling students to build strong fundamentals before chasing trends.

“The beauty industry isn’t just about looking good; it’s about making others feel good. Real success lies in skill, ethics, and consistency,” she adds.

As the Co-Founder, Qurat Syed Deshmukh continues to empower students through hands-on mentorship, real-world salon experience, and international-standard techniques, nurturing talent with purpose and precision.

With her candid insights, she urges aspiring stylists to choose education over illusion, invest in genuine learning, and remember that every great artist begins with intense training, not shortcuts.
