Surat | Gujarat — In a powerful display of compassion and civic responsibility, a mega blood donation camp jointly organized by the City Police and Sachin Industrial Co-Operative Society concluded successfully at Road No. 3 of Sachin GIDC on Thursday. The camp, dedicated to children suffering from thalassemia, collected an impressive 1,157 bottles of blood in a single day.
The day-long Seva Yagya saw overwhelming participation from industrialists, workers, plot holders, police personnel, and local residents. The event was inaugurated in the presence of City Police Commissioner Gehlot, who praised the community’s commitment to saving lives.
A Life-Saving Mission
Thalassemia-affected children require frequent and regular blood transfusions for survival. Recognizing this urgent need, the City Police collaborated with the industrial community of Sachin to mobilize resources on a large scale.
“Blood donation is not just a social service, it is a life donation. With every unit donated, we are giving a child the chance to live and dream,” said Police Commissioner Gehlot, addressing donors at the venue.
United Effort of Police and Industry
The initiative was led by Sachin Industrial Co-Operative Society President Nilesh Gami, Vice President Bhikhubhai Nakrani, Notified Chairman Mitul Mehta, and Secretary Mayur Golwala. The leaders visited the venue ahead of the event, ensuring smooth arrangements and motivating volunteers.
Speaking at the camp, Chairman Mitul Mehta highlighted the moral duty of society, said “When a precious life is at risk due to blood shortage, we must step forward. Blood cannot be manufactured in factories; it has to come from us. Today, we are not just donating blood — we are donating hope and future to children suffering from thalassemia.”
Industrial Leaders Stand in Solidarity
Industrialist Keyur Patel of Maxon India Pvt. Ltd. echoed the same sentiment, ““Our blood donation will save the life of a child who wants to live. This noble effort led by the police and our society is a reminder that humanity comes first. Every citizen should participate in such initiatives.”
The police station team, led by Officer Ghanshyam Singh, also actively supported the drive. Their participation, alongside that of industrial workers and leaders, created a spirit of unity and purpose.
