Vadodara | Gujarat – What began as a childhood passion for sketching and painting has evolved into an inspiring journey of artistic excellence and innovation in the tattoo industry.

A former psychology student, Bhakti Thakkar discovered her true calling during the pandemic—a time that led many to reconnect with their passions. For Bhakti, it meant rediscovering her love for art. A defining moment came shortly after lockdown, when watching her mother get a tattoo sparked a deep realization—tattooing was not just a skill, but a powerful art form she felt instantly connected to.

Determined to pursue this path, she enrolled in a reputed tattoo education institute, where she gained expertise in techniques, safety standards, and artistic fundamentals. Over time, Bhakti developed a strong niche in colour realism tattooing, a complex style that demands precision and deep understanding of skin tones—especially Indian skin.

Her growing expertise soon translated into global recognition. Bhakti was awarded in the Large Colour Tattoo category at the Kula Worldwide Festival, where she competed alongside 20 international artists in one of the most challenging segments. Her talent also earned her recognition as a Sponsored Artist by Kula Worldwide, representing the brand at prestigious platforms such as the Art Culture Tattoo Festival and the Kolkata Tattoo Festival. Additionally, she participated in the Inkdian Tattoo Convention, one of India’s prominent tattoo platforms.

Beyond competitions, Bhakti has emerged as a knowledge leader in her field. She was invited to conduct a specialized Colour Tattoo Workshop in Vadodara, focusing on advanced colour application, skin healing, and enhancing the longevity of tattoos. The workshop marked a significant milestone for the region, as structured learning on colour realism for Indian skin tones had not previously been introduced in such depth.

What made the workshop particularly noteworthy was the participation of several experienced tattoo artists—many with over 10 years of industry experience—who attended to learn and refine their understanding of colour tattooing. Their presence highlighted Bhakti’s growing credibility and the value of her expertise within the professional community.

Further adding to her portfolio, Bhakti created a custom Samurai tattoo for Kritagya Singh, captain of the Lucknow Falcons cricket team, showcasing her ability to deliver personalized, high-quality artistic work for distinguished clients.

Today, Bhakti Thakkar stands as a name in the tattoo industry—recognized not only for her artistic excellence but also for her contribution to advancing colour tattoo techniques in India. Her journey reflects a seamless blend of passion, perseverance, and purpose, inspiring both aspiring and established artists alike.
