Morbi : One of the world’s top ten tile producers, SOMANY Ceramics, has begun producing tiles at its brand-new, cutting-edge factory in Morbi, Gujarat. SACMI-ITALY, the world’s largest producer of tile machines, donated the cutting-edge equipment and technology for the enormous complex that spans 26 acres.

The new SOMANY MAX plant is equipped with cutting-edge machinery and has an annual production capacity of 3.5 million square metres, making it ideally suited to continue the company’s tradition of innovation by producing high-quality ceramics in line with current industry standards.

SOMANY Ceramics Ltd. Managing Director and CEO Abhishek Somany was visibly moved when he spoke at the opening, saying, “This huge milestone shows SOMANY’s dedication to innovation and design. Manufacturing Large Format Tiles (LFT) from 1200x1200mm up to 1200x3200mm in many thicknesses and finishes will be the primary emphasis of this facility once commercial production begins in the next fiscal quarter. The goal of this strategic initiative is to meet the demands of India’s growing middle class by manufacturing premium Large Format Tiles.

Because of Morbi’s established reputation as a centre for tile production and the city’s robust infrastructure, it was chosen as the site for the facility. This tactical move allows SOMANY to provide consumers a wide selection of styles, colours, materials, and dimensions, giving the company a leg up in the market.
