Instagram Down Today? Facebook & Instagram Outage Reported in India

Many users are asking, “Is Instagram down today?” after Facebook and Instagram experienced widespread outages on Friday, affecting users in India and several other countries.

According to outage tracking platform Downdetector, thousands of users reported problems accessing Instagram and Facebook, with issues ranging from login failures to app crashes and messaging disruptions.

Instagram Down in India and Other Regions

Instagram users reported major issues with the app, with nearly 1,100 complaints registered within a short period. Around 74% of the reports were related to the Instagram app not loading properly, while others faced problems refreshing feeds, uploading stories, or sending messages.

At the same time, Facebook users also experienced service disruptions. Downdetector data showed that:

• 53% of users faced login issues
• 31% reported problems with the Facebook app
• 15% experienced messaging-related issues

The sudden spike in complaints has led many users to search for terms such as “Instagram down,” “Facebook down,” and “Instagram down in India.”

Users Flood Social Media After Instagram Outage

As Instagram and Facebook services faced interruptions, users quickly moved to other platforms to confirm whether the apps were down globally. Many reported being automatically logged out, unable to refresh feeds, or facing server connection errors.

Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, has not yet released an official statement regarding the outage at the time of writing.
