Samay Raina Takes a Playful Dig at Alia Bhatt’s ‘Jigra’ in India’s Got Latent Season 2 Premiere

Comedian and content creator Samay Raina has returned with the second season of India’s Got Latent, and the premiere episode is already generating buzz online. Released on June 20, the episode features Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh, who joined the panel as special guests to promote their upcoming film Alpha.

During the episode, Raina welcomed the actors in his trademark humorous style and joked about being surprised to see Bhatt on the show. When Bhatt remarked, “I am kinda regretting it right now,” Raina quickly responded, “Maine bhi kiya tha Jigra dekh ke regret” (“I also regretted watching Jigra”).

The joke briefly left Bhatt stunned before she replied with a smile, “At least you watched the film. Thank you for contributing to my film,” drawing laughter from the panel, including Sharvari.

The episode marks a significant comeback for Raina following the controversy surrounding the first season of India’s Got Latent. In early 2025, comments made by guest panellist Ranveer Allahbadia sparked backlash, leading to multiple FIRs and legal scrutiny involving the show’s creators and guests.

Season 2 is being released simultaneously on YouTube and Netflix, with Raina maintaining the show’s signature uncensored format. New episodes are scheduled to be released every two weeks.

Meanwhile, Bhatt and Sharvari are gearing up for the release of Alpha, an action thriller set in the YRF Spy Universe. Directed by Shiv Rawail, the film also stars Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol, with a reported cameo by Hrithik Roshan. The film is slated for theatrical release on July 3, 2026.
