Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Skyline donates RS 2 lakh to family of home guard killed in Iscon Flyover accident
Fund channelised through Rajyash Regius for the family of the home guard who died in Iscon flyover accident
Ahmedabad : The Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Skyline commemorated Independence Day in a novel manner by staging a vehicle rally to disseminate the message about road safety as part of the rotary ideal of service over self.
The Rotary Club of Ahmedabad Skyline, the biggest club in District 3054, wanted to do something to raise awareness about the growing number of automobile accidents caused by speeding and violating traffic regulations.
On Independence Day, the Rotary Club organised a treasure hunt for its members, which was enthusiastically engaged in by club members and their families.
However, this year, president Rekha Kabra informed that club members wanted to add a cause to this event and decided to do something impactful, so a car rally to spread awareness was planned with the goal of raising funds for the family of the deceased home guard, who has not received much financial support due to him being non-permanent.
Club secretary Rtn Saurabh Khandelwal informed that once the club members decided to dedicate this year’s task to the above objective, the idea was floated to the traffic police force, and it was immediately supported by the department. The rotary club also received support from the Rajyash group for a direct cash support of 2 lakh for the deceased’s family.
Other sponsors helped make the treasure hunt feasible.
The event, which began at TRP Mall Bhopal and ended at Raj Path Club, drew around 60 automobiles.
Ms Janki from Rajyash group presented the check for 2 lakhs to the parents of the home guard at the award ceremony, in the presence of ACP Patel, police Vaghela sir.
ACP of police appreciated the rotary club skyline’s effort for this service above self-work and urged that the excellent work and support continue in the future.
