Quad Quantum Signs MoU with Sardar Patel University to Boost Semiconductor Research

Ahmedabad | Gujarat —- In a major step towards advancing India’s semiconductor ecosystem, Quad Quantum Pvt. Ltd. has signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sardar Patel University (SPU), one of the country’s most prestigious academic institutions. The collaboration aims to strengthen industry-academia ties and accelerate research in semiconductor materials and advanced technologies.

The partnership will focus on polished silicon and compound semiconductor substrates, Silicon-on-Insulator (SOI), epitaxy, and emerging two-dimensional (2D) materials. Industry experts believe this collaboration will not only enhance India’s technological capabilities but also contribute to creating intellectual property (IP) and nurturing skilled talent for the semiconductor sector.

Dr. Jivrajbhai Dankhara, Managing Director of Quad Quantum, said the MoU reflects the company’s commitment to bridging the gap between academic excellence and industry requirements. “India’s semiconductor journey will be accelerated when academia and industry come together. By sharing knowledge, developing IP, and training the next generation, we can build a self-reliant ecosystem that serves both national and global needs,” he said.

From the university’s side, Prof. Dr. Niranjanbhai Patel, Vice Chancellor of SPU, expressed optimism about the partnership. “This collaboration with Quad Quantum will open new opportunities for our researchers and students to work on cutting-edge projects in semiconductor materials. It is an important step towards making Gujarat and India a hub for advanced technology research,” he remarked.

The MoU was signed in the presence of senior academicians including Dr. Bhailalbhai Patel, Registrar of SPU; Prof. Dr. K.D. Patel; Prof. Dr. M. P. Deshpande, Head of the Physics Department; and Prof. Dr. Rajesh Rajpara.

Education experts note that such collaborations are crucial at a time when India is making a strong push towards semiconductor manufacturing and design under the government’s Make in India and Digital India initiatives.
