Mumbai :Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport ( CSMIA) has added a new facility that makes it simpler for passengers to transfer with connecting domestic flights from Terminal (T2). CSMIA is one of the first airports in India to implement a programme designed to ease passengers’ transit time. It is now much simpler and quicker for CSMIA passengers to connect between domestic flights. Increased domestic and international passenger traffic necessitated the addition of Domestic-to-Domestic (DTD) transfer services, which CSMIA is now pleased to provide.

In an effort to streamline the travel experience for passengers, pre-boarding security checks are performed in this area. Passengers and crew members who use this transfer area will have a much shorter Minimum Connection Time (MCT), allowing them to take flights with a more compact time gap between them. There will be less of an impact on passengers who have tight connections between flights, and airlines will have more leeway in scheduling flights and staffing flights. In the past, passengers would have to leave the terminal, then re-enter it to get to the domestic departure concourse, where they would then have to wait for their connecting flight. This improvement will make the journey much more streamlined for them.

A CSMIA representative said, “We are thrilled to launch the new DTD facility at Terminal 2 of CSMIA, which is a significant step forward in improving the travel experience for our passengers and strengthening CSMIA as a transfer hub. The new building is meant to make passengers’ journeys easier and more pleasant by streamlining the transfer process, shortening the waiting time for security checks, and allowing them easier access to the departure concourse. Passengers can always expect CSMIA to be one step ahead of the competition with its constantly evolving suite of products and services.

With best-in-class services and state of the art infrastructure, CSMIA constantly reinvents itself to provide ingenious solutions that offer seamless transit for passengers travelling via the airport. In its constant endeavour to be a Gateway to Goodness, CSMIA looks beyond challenges to provide top-notch services and memorable experiences to passengers. With domestic travel on the rise and summer travel booking seeing a surge, this dedicated space would benefit passengers to travel faster, smoother and more conveniently than ever before.
