Hazira residents level serious charges against Energy Minister Mukesh Patel for lifting steel slag from AM/NS India

Surat (Gujarat) [India]: Residents of Hazira have leveled severe allegations against Mukesh Patel, Minister of State for Energy and Agriculture, for allegedly using his political weight to secure the contract for lifting over two lakh tonnes of steel slag from ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel India (AM/NS India).
Dalpat Surti, a resident of Hazira, alleged in a letter to Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel that the Gujarat BJP Chief, CR Paatil, had assigned the responsibility of ensuring that locals from Hazira are employed in the AM/NS India during a meeting of the sarpanches and residents of Hazira villages.
Residents of Hazira have time and again raised the issue of employment for the unemployed youths in the villages. There is a long pending demand of the locals that the unemployed youths from all the 14 villages in Hazira should get employment in the giant industries including AM/NS India and others.
According to Surti, Agriculture and Energy Minister, Mukesh Patel used his political clout to get the contract of lifting crores of rupees worth of Steel slag from AM/NS India for his son. Patel’s son has allegedly partnered with a transport company in Ichhapore-Kawas for lifting the Steel Slag from AM/NS India.
Surti has demanded thorough inquiring into the matter and urged the Chief Minister and Gujarat BJP Chief to ensure that the locals get employment in AM/NS India.
