Ahmedabad | Gujarat — The impact of the strong Western Disturbance (WD) passing through North India is likely to extend to Gujarat. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in some districts of Saurashtra and North Gujarat. With the forecast of heavy rains in the middle of winter, a drop in temperature has also been predicted in Gujarat for two days.

Unseasonal rain drenched various rural areas including Porbandar in Saurashtra. The weather has been cloudy since early Wednesday morning. Drizzle has also been recorded in Dwarka, Kalyanpur and surrounding villages. Due to this unseasonal rain, farmers are worried, although some areas have also experienced a cool atmosphere. There is a fear of damage to crops including gram and cumin.

According to the Meteorological Department, light rain pounded Kutch and Porbandar. While Ahmedabad has been experiencing foggy weather since early morning on Wednesday and there has also been an increase in pollution.

Scattered light rain is likely in these districts. Along with this, rain has also been predicted in some parts of Gujarat, in which there is a possibility of light rain at scattered places in districts like Banaskantha, Patan in North Gujarat, and Jamnagar, Morbi, Dwarka and Kutch in Saurashtra-Kutch. Dry weather is likely in the remaining districts of the state.

According to weather expert Paresh Goswami, once again heavy rains have been predicted in the state. There is every possibility that the year 2025 will end and 2026 will begin with rainy weather. The impact of the strong Western Disturbance (WD) passing through North India is likely to extend to Gujarat. Scattered rains may occur in the state during these two days, 31 December 2025 and 1 January 2026.

After the monsoon, a new round of cold weather will begin in the state from January 2 and 3. There is a possibility of a cold wave and severe cold. Due to climate change and changes in the atmosphere, this year there is a decrease in cold weather and an increase in heavy rains. Farmers have been instructed to take necessary precautions keeping in mind the forecast of this rain.
