Ahmedabad : In response to the upcoming IPL 2024 matches scheduled at the Narendra Modi Stadium, the city Police Commissioner has announced the implementation of traffic restrictions to ensure smooth traffic flow and public safety. With six matches remaining at the venue, authorities have outlined specific road closures and alternative routes for the convenience of commuters and spectators.

With the excitement of IPL 2024 matches gripping the city, the Police Commissioner has taken proactive measures to manage traffic around the Narendra Modi Stadium effectively. In an official announcement, traffic restrictions have been put in place for the remaining six matches scheduled at the venue, prioritizing the safety and convenience of all road users.

During these matches, specific road segments will be closed to vehicular traffic to facilitate the smooth flow of spectators and ensure security arrangements are upheld. The restricted areas include the road segment between Janpath T Junction and Stadium Main Gate, as well as the stretch from Krupa Residency to the Stadium Main Gate. To navigate around these closures, authorities have proposed alternative routes for commuters and residents in the vicinity.

One suggested alternative route directs traffic from Tapovan Circle to ONGC Crossroads, then to Visat T Junction, proceeding towards Janpath T Junction, and finally leading to Powerhouse Crossroads and Prabodh Rawal Circle. Another route option entails traveling from Krupa Residency to Sharan Status Crossroads, then to Koteshwar Road, and finally reaching Apollo Circle. These alternative routes aim to mitigate congestion and ensure minimal disruption to daily commutes during match days.

The enforcement of these diversions will be in effect during the remaining IPL 2024 matches at the Narendra Modi Stadium. Matches including GT vs DC on April 17, GT vs RCB on April 28, GT vs CSK on May 10, GT vs KKR on May 13, and the Qualifier 1 and Eliminator matches on May 21 and 22 respectively will see these traffic arrangements in place.

By proactively implementing traffic restrictions and offering alternative routes, the city Police Commissioner seeks to enhance traffic management around the stadium and facilitate a seamless experience for both cricket enthusiasts and local residents.
