Gujarat STEM quiz 3.0 grand finale to be held in Ahmedabad on Feb 1

Ahmedabad : The grand finale of Gujarat STEM Quiz 3.0 is set to take place on 1st February 2025 at the expansive grounds of Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad. In the latest development, 2,000 participants, comprising students and teachers, are set to take part in what is being hailed as the largest quiz festival in the nation, establishing it as the biggest STEM quiz competition in India. The prize pool for participants in the Gujarat STEM Quiz 3.0 amounts to ₹2 crore.

The grand finale promises to be an exciting showcase of the youth’s enthusiasm for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM). Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma, the  Minister of State for various sectors including Cooperatives, Salt Industry, and Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, will be the chief guest at the function. He will preside over the event and present prizes to the winning students.  Mona Khandhar, IAS, Principal Secretary of the Department of Science and Technology for the Government of Gujarat, is set to grace the Grand Finale event as the Chief Guest.

In a remarkable achievement, Gujarat STEM Quiz 3.0 has recorded an enrolment of 10,12,539 students from diverse boards and states nationwide, establishing itself as the largest quiz of its kind in the country and raising the bar for educational initiatives.

Gujarat STEM Quiz 3.0 transcends the boundaries of a mere competition; it serves as an enlightening experience that motivates both students and educators to explore the vast realm of STEM more profoundly. GUJCOST has meticulously assembled a quiz bank featuring more than 7,000 questions spanning multiple STEM disciplines to assist students in their preparation efforts.

India’s largest STEM quiz, Gujarat STEM Quiz 3.0, seeks to ignite enthusiasm for learning and innovation among students. The online preliminary round witnessed a vibrant turnout from students throughout Gujarat, engaging in a range of stimulating challenges aimed at assessing their skills in STEM disciplines.

The Gujarat STEM-Quiz stands out as an innovative initiative that merges learning, enjoyment, and a spirit of competition. This has been crafted with a focus on casual science learning. Engaging quizzes of this nature enhance the enjoyment of STEM education. The engaging approach frequently aids learners in retaining information more effectively than conventional rote learning from textbooks.

The zonal level round took place from December 20 to 25, 2024, across seven locations including Patan, Bhuj, Bhavnagar, Rajkot, SVNIT Surat, and Navrachana University in Vadodara. In the zonal round, a total of 2,560 students took part, and from this impressive pool, the top 1,080 students have earned their place in the grand finale of Gujarat STEM Quiz 3.0.

The Space Application Centre (SAC) of ISRO, along with esteemed national scientific institutions such as the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), and the National Forensic Science University (NFSU), are collaborating as Knowledge Partners for the Gujarat STEM Quiz. In addition to this, Gujarat Informatics Limited (GIL), DD- Girnar, and Gujarat Science City are partnering in this esteemed STEM learning initiative.
