Gujarat : Seven Electrocuted in Dasada Taluka, Four Critically Injured

Surendranagar : A pall of grief hangs over the rural village of Bubvana in Dasada Taluka, Gujarat, after a tragic incident claimed the lives of three farm laborers and critically injured four others on Monday morning. The victims were electrocuted while traveling to their fields in a tractor carrying tall iron sheets, which came into contact with a live overhead power line.

The incident unfolded around daybreak as a group of farm laborers, all hailing from Alirajpur district in Madhya Pradesh, were heading to the fields on a tractor. The iron sheets they were transporting, estimated to be around 10-12 feet high, made fatal contact with an electrical line, instantly electrocuting three individuals on board. The remaining four passengers sustained severe injuries and were rushed to the nearby Viramgam Hospital.

“The current passed through the iron sheets, electrocuting the people on the tractor,” confirmed a local police officer. “Three of them died on the spot, while the others are in critical condition.”

Medical personnel at Viramgam Hospital are battling to save the lives of the critically injured. Their condition is described as severe, and the possibility of additional fatalities cannot be ruled out.

Upon receiving news of the tragedy, a team comprising police officers and the local Mamlatdar (revenue official) rushed to the scene and launched an investigation into the cause of the accident. The focus is on determining whether negligence on the part of power line maintenance authorities played a role in the incident.

The deaths have sent shockwaves through the local community and the families of the victims. Leaders have expressed condolences and promised support for the affected families.
