MANDVI, GUJARAT : A tragic incident unfolded at Mandvi Beach, leaving a tourist from Jharkhand dead after a paragliding mishap. The deceased, Baldevsingh Kore, reportedly fell from the paraglider due to alleged negligence by the operators. Following the incident, the Mandvi police have registered a case of culpable homicide against four individuals, including the chief manager of Shiv Waters Sports.

“My husband participated in a paragliding ride on Friday last, paying Rs 700, but was not provided with any safety equipment,” stated Sukhwinder Baldevsingh Kore, the victim’s wife. “During the ride, the driver of the towing vehicle drove at high speed, causing my husband to fall to the ground.”

According to reports, Kore’s family, including his wife, children, and brother stationed at the Air Force base in Bhuj, were vacationing at Mandvi Beach.  After the fall, instead of seeking medical attention, the paragliding operators allegedly fled the scene, leaving Kore critically injured. Thankfully, nearby tourists intervened and rushed him to medical facilities, but Kore succumbed to his injuries at KK Patel Hospital in Bhuj.

“We have confirmed the detention of the main operator, Pankaj Bhanushali, and the beach operator, Abbas Sulaiman Para,” informed PI DD Shimpi of Mandvi police station. “Both accused have been remanded into a two-day police custody as investigations progress.”
