Ahmedabad, Gujarat — In a strategic move to prepare its youth for the rapidly evolving industrial landscape, Gujarat has launched a state-of-the-art ‘iFactory Lab’ at the Industrial Training Institute (ITI) in Kubernagar, Ahmedabad. Spearheaded by Kaushalya, The Skill University, and supported by the Ministry of Heavy Industries, the lab is set to play a transformative role in training young talent in key Industry 4.0 technologies such as robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), data analytics, and cyber-physical systems.
Under the guidance of Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel, the state continues to strengthen its position as a global talent hub. “This initiative is a step towards equipping our youth with future-ready skills that match global industrial demands,” said CM Bhupendra Patel. “The iFactory Lab reflects our commitment to building a technologically advanced and self-reliant Gujarat.”
The lab is designed to simulate the digital manufacturing environment of the future—where processes from order placement to product delivery are fully automated and data-driven. Students and professionals will gain hands-on experience with cyber-physical systems, advanced robotics, and real-time monitoring, which are critical for smart factories.
Dr. Anju Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary, said, “This facility will not only train students but also working professionals and entrepreneurs, enabling them to adopt and lead with emerging technologies.”
With a focus on aligning education with industry needs, the iFactory Lab aims to bridge the skill gap in smart manufacturing and contribute to India’s broader goal of becoming a global manufacturing powerhouse. It supports Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a Viksit Bharat by 2047, which emphasizes skill development, innovation, and sustainable growth.
Notably, India’s recent leap to the 40th position in the Global Innovation Index adds momentum to such efforts. Through this lab, Gujarat aims to nurture a workforce that can power the country’s progress in the global value chain.
The iFactory Lab is a bold leap into the future, preparing Gujarat’s youth for the digital industrial revolution while contributing to India’s journey towards becoming a technology-driven economic superpower.
