Gandhinagar | Gujarat — In a swift and decisive blow against horrific child abuse, a Special POCSO court in Gandhinagar has sentenced a man to rigorous life imprisonment until his final breath for the brutal kidnapping and rape of a four-year-old innocent girl. The historic verdict, delivered in just five and a half months, ensures that the convict will never walk free again, with the court explicitly ordering that his body only be released to his family after he dies in prison.

The harrowing incident occurred on the night of December 15, 2025, in the Indira Nagar Chhapra area of Sector-24, Gandhinagar. The convict, identified as Ramneet Devnandan Ramrup Yadav, surreptitiously entered the victim’s home while she was sleeping, kidnapped her, and dragged her to nearby bushes where he violated her. Believing the toddler had died from the trauma, Yadav abandoned her in the dark.

However, showing unimaginable resilience, the young girl regained consciousness and managed to walk back to her terrified family on shaky feet, exposing the heinous crime.

Yadav had meticulously planned the assault ten days in advance after spotting the toddler at a local grocery shop. While he actively plotted to flee to his native state of Bihar after the crime, the Gujarat Police thwarted his escape, tracking and arresting him within five days using advanced technical surveillance and a network of local informants.

During the subsequent crime scene reconstruction, Yadav made a desperate attempt to escape by attacking the police personnel. In self-defense, law enforcement fired three rounds, hitting the convict in the leg before successfully placing him back into custody.

Speaking on the landmark judgment, Gandhinagar District Public Prosecutor Sunil Pandya praised the fast-tracked judicial process.

“This case was tried before the Special POCSO Court of S.V. Sharma Saheb. As the public prosecutor, we presented airtight evidence to conclude the trial in just 5 months and 10 days. The court has now ordered that the convict remain behind bars for as long as he is alive, and his body will only be handed over to his guardians after his demise.”

In addition to the absolute life term, Special Judge S.V. Sharma ordered a compensation of ₹10 lakh to be paid to the young survivor to aid in her rehabilitation and medical recovery.
