Ahmedabad : In a bid to boost its coffers before the financial year wraps up, the Amdavad Municipal Corporation (AMC) has sent a tax warning shot to Palladium Mall and hundreds of other units across the city.

A total of 180 shops in the posh in Palladium mall received notices yesterday for non-payment of professional taxes, adding to the 306 units across various areas already facing similar warnings for outstanding dues totaling Rs 8.28 lakh.

The civic body isn’t stopping at notices. With the fiscal year nearing its end, the AMC has also ramped up inspections by forming four dedicated teams per zone. These teams are meticulously combing through colleges, malls, restaurants, and hospitals, leaving no stone unturned in their pursuit of unpaid professional taxes. T

he crackdown hasn’t been gentle – 12 construction sites, including prominent names like Arise Atlantis in Jagatpur, Magnate Impression near Bhadaj Circle, Siddharth Icon next to Navrang School, and Indraprasth Shivanta on SP Ring Road, have already had their seals slapped on by the municipality for non-compliance.
